A sacred fragrance for calm, clarity, and elevation. Ahloki’s Ritual Wood, Pavitra Vana (Palo Santo) carries the quiet strength of ancient forests. Revered by indigenous cultures for centuries, Palo Santo — meaning “Holy Wood” — has been used in sacred ceremonies to cleanse, uplift, and invite higher vibrations.
Traditionally used by healers and spiritual practitioners, its benefits include:
- Cleansing negative or stagnant energy.
- Promoting peace, mindfulness, and emotional grounding.
- Elevating meditation, prayer, or yoga rituals.
- Supporting respiratory ease and deep breathing.
- Naturally repelling insects — ideal for outdoor or evening rituals.
In the language of Ayurveda, Palo Santo carries a sattvic (pure, balanced) energy, calming the mind while revitalising the spirit.
The Ritual: Forest Light (3–5 minutes)
- This is a short ritual. Palo santo works best with restraint.
- Light the stick for 20–30 seconds, then blow out.
- Hold it still and let the scent rise — don’t “chase” the room with it.
- Bring the smoke to your chest once and say: “Return me to quiet.”
- Place it in a heat-safe dish. Sit with one hand on your sternum for 60 seconds.
- Use after social time, calls, or overstimulation.
- This is a spiritual ritual for restoring calm after movement.
When lit, its soft, golden smoke fills the air with warmth and stillness. Sweet and woody with hints of citrus and resin, it transforms your space into a sanctuary of peace. Each sustainably harvested stick is chosen for its purity and aroma — a mindful companion for meditation, reflection, or simple moments of serenity.

About Palo Santo
Description
Part of Ahloki’s mindful-living collection, Pavitra Vana, or “Sacred Forest”, this ritual honours the philosophy of pavitrata, purity of thought, breath, and environment. Honours Palo Santo’s centuries-old spiritual heritage. Also, in Hindu and Vedic traditions, fragrant woods are offered to the sacred fire as an act of devotion, symbolising the transformation of energy and the connection between earth and spirit.
Palo Santo Native to the dry tropical forests of Peru and Ecuador, Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) has been revered by the Incan and Andean cultures for its cleansing and healing properties. Shamans and healers, known as Curanderos, burned the wood in ceremonies to cleanse energy fields, invite protection, and strengthen the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.
In these traditions, Palo Santo was seen as a gift from the divine, a sacred tree that must never be cut down. Only branches that had naturally fallen and aged over time were gathered, as it was believed that their spirit awakened only after death. This reverence ensured a sustainable, harmonious relationship between humans and nature, one that Ahloki continues to honour.
Spiritually, Palo Santo represents the element of ether (Akasha), expansive, subtle, and pure. When burned, its fragrant smoke clears heaviness, uplifts emotion, and restores presence. In Ayurvedic and yogic philosophy, it supports Anahata (Heart) and Ajna (Third Eye) chakras, fostering compassion, intuition, and spiritual clarity.
At Ahloki, Palo Santo is more than fragrance, it’s a meditation in transformation. A ritual of light meeting air, intention meeting stillness, and energy returning to balance. Burned with intention, it becomes more than scent, it becomes meditation in motion.
How to Use
Light one end of the Palo Santo stick until a small flame forms. Let it burn for 20–30 seconds, then gently blow it out.
Allow the smoke to rise and drift naturally through your home, over your body, or around your meditation space.
Use before yoga or creative work to centre your focus, or after meditation to seal your practice. When finished, rest the stick in a fireproof bowl or dish until it extinguishes naturally. One stick can be relit multiple times.
