A long wick creates a higher flame, which can be dangerous. It can also burn your candle faster and cause tunneling. Makes the candle burn clean and bright. It also keeps the candle jar and wax clean. Prevents a smoky candle, prevents mushrooming of the wick and build-up of carbon which usually drops into your wax pool. Trimming your wick also allows better fragrance diffusion.
How to use: Trim your wick to about 4-6mm. Hold the wick trimmer like scissors, place the handle inside the rim of the jar, make sure the blade is parallel to the wax, cut the wick to the desired length.
You should always trim your wick after use to ensure it lasts longer and burns cleaner.
