A visual rhythm of strength, breath, and flow. This elegant art print illustrates the full Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. A dynamic sequence that unites breath and movement to build energy, discipline, and inner stillness. Each posture is thoughtfully drawn with its Sanskrit name, creating a beautiful balance between guidance and design.

Rooted in the traditional eight-limbed path of yoga, Ashtanga is both a physical practice and a meditative journey — a moving prayer that invites focus, heat, and clarity. More than art, this piece gently guides you through the sequence, turning your wall into a mindful ritual tool rather than just a visual display.

Printed on premium 250gsm giclée enhanced matte art paper, the poster captures both detail and depth with soft, tranquil texture.

About Ashtanga Yoga

Description

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and energetic practice that harmonises breath with a progressive series of postures. Ashtanga, derived from the Sanskrit term meaning “eight limbs,” is a practice that connects physical postures (asanas) with breath (pranayama), focus (drishti), and flow (vinyasa). It’s known as a disciplined, purifying path, one that strengthens the body while quieting the mind.

The Primary Series, or Yoga Chikitsa (“Yoga Therapy”) is designed to detoxify and realign the body through a consistent sequence of movements. It cultivates endurance, humility, and awareness, a gentle reminder that true mastery lies in repetition and surrender.

This poster captures each posture in sequence, allowing you to see the flow as one continuous rhythm of breath and movement.
Follow it slowly, one pose leading into the next through the inhale and exhale and allow the body to memorise stillness through repetition. Over time, what begins as movement becomes meditation.

It’s more than a visual guide; it’s a quiet companion to your daily practice, inviting presence, patience, and inner clarity.

This artwork reflects that philosophy, transforming ancient wisdom into a calm, visual meditation for your practice space.

How to Use

Use this chart as a visual guide to follow the rhythm of the Ashtanga Primary Series. Move slowly, honouring the sequence from Sun Salutations to closing postures, allowing strength and stillness to unfold together. Begin by observing the flow, notice how each posture leads into the next through breath and intention.

?️ Start with Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar A & B) to awaken the body.
? Flow into standing, seated, and finishing postures, letting breath guide every transition.
✨ Use it as a visual anchor when you need inspiration, structure, or quiet motivation.

Over time, it becomes more than a guide, it becomes part of your ritual, reminding you that yoga is as much about presence as it is about progress.

For deeper connection, set the tone with soft light or a grounding fragrance before beginning.

Framing Suggestion: Frame it in natural wood for an earthy, grounded look or pair it with soft linen textures and candles to create a calm corner for reflection and breath.

Placement: Place this piece where you breathe, move, or unwind, beside your yoga mat, meditation space, or a softly lit corner. Pair with gentle light, a candle, or subtle fragrance to create a mindful atmosphere that grounds and renews you.
